Microsoft for Startups Evolves to Better Support Founders at Every Stage

Microsoft for Startups has launched a new, more flexible approach to better support founders at their pace, path, and potential—based on feedback from startups, investors, and partners.

Two New Paths to Azure

Startups can now access Azure credits through two simplified routes:

  • Self-Service for Early-Stage Startups: Any founder can sign up and quickly access $5,000 in Azure credits, without waiting for a validation process.

  • Investor-Driven Access: Startups backed by select VCs or accelerators can now gain access to Azure through their investors, making it faster to get started and scale.

Both routes include a startup-specific view of the Azure portal to help founders build with enterprise-ready tools from day one.

Growth Through Partnerships

Microsoft is deepening its collaboration with accelerators and VCs like Neo and PearX, who see Azure’s credibility and Microsoft’s go-to-market (GTM) support as powerful growth levers for early-stage startups.

Startups like Faros AI and Basecamp Research are already leveraging Azure and Microsoft’s ecosystem to innovate in AI, DevOps, and biotechnology—demonstrating the value of scalable, secure, and trusted cloud infrastructure.

A Long-Term Commitment

With a 48% year-over-year increase in Azure OpenAI usage among startups, Microsoft for Startups is doubling down on making access easier and more impactful. By working closely with investors, universities, and accelerators, Microsoft is aiming to help more startups—whether just starting out or scaling globally.

Startups now have multiple clear, accessible paths to build, grow, and sell with Microsoft.
